Atletico Madrid recruit Premier League midfielder

 The future of the Turkish star is uncertain in the Leicester City shirt when the winter transfer window opens.

According to British media, Atletico Madrid will open negotiations to recruit midfielder Caglar Soyuncu in January. The current contract between the Turkish star and Leicester City will expire in the summer of 2023.

Commenting on the future of Soyuncu, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano shared on his personal Twitter page: " Atletico Madrid will carry out the Caglar Soyuncu deal in January. The plan is very clear."

Coach Brendan Rodgers revealed that Leicester City have negotiated with Soyuncu's agent about a contract extension. However, the plan has come to a standstill. 

Thus, the scenario of the Foxes pushing away the 26-year-old midfielder in January is quite likely if they do not want to fall into the situation of losing him in the summer of 2023. 

Soyuncu's performance has declined in recent times. Constant injuries became part of the reason why the star born in 1996 lost his position in the center of the home team's defense. 

In that context, Atletico Madrid became the ideal lifeline for Soyuncu . The arrival of the Spanish team gives him the opportunity to play in a top environment like La Liga or the Champions League.
